Authors are requested to identify exactly one author as the corresponding author when registering the submission.

 

How to Participate

Reviewing will be double-blind. This means that you must take measures to prevent that your identity is not easily revealed from the submission (e.g. no author names, self-citations done in a neutral way). Authors are encouraged to submit work that has been presented in public or has appeared on ArXiV, provided the submission itself is anonymized. Authors will be asked to declare conflicts of interest with PC members, and PC members who know the identity of the authors of a paper are supposed to declare a conflict of interest.

Submissions co-authored by PC members are allowed, but will be held to a higher standard than other submissions.

Submissions must be registered by August 11, 2017. EasyChair meta-data (title, list of authors and abstract) is required by this date in order for a full paper to be considered. Only chairs will know the identity of authors.

Full paper submissions are due by August 18, 2017. Submissions received after this time will not be considered. All submissions must be in PDF format and submitted electronically. Submitting authors are encouraged to post their submission on their website.

Papers should be submitted in the form of an extended abstract, which begins with the title of the paper, each author's name, affiliation, and e-mail address, followed by a clear statement of the problem considered, a succinct summary of the results obtained, a brief discussion of the significance and novelty of the research, and a clear comparison with related work. The remainder of the extended abstract should provide sufficient detail to allow the program committee to evaluate the validity, quality, and relevance of the contribution. Authors may include a clearly marked appendix, which will be read at the discretion of the program committee.

Submissions should be typeset in single column format, using 11-point or larger font, with reasonable margins and line spacing. Excluding the title page and bibliography, the extended abstract must not exceed ten pages. Supplementary material may be included in the appendix and will be read at the discretion of the reviewers.

Authors of accepted papers are strongly encouraged to submit publicly available code and data to the ACM Journal of Experimental Algorithmics Research Code Repository via http://www.jea.acm.org/repository/.

 

Simultaneous Submissions

Results previously published in another conference proceedings or journal (or scheduled for publication prior to SODA) will not be accepted at SODA. Simultaneous submissions of the results to another conference with a published proceedings is not allowed. At the time that the author signs SODA's copyright transfer agreement, the author must affirm that no copyright transfer agreement permitting the publication of a similar paper in a journal or elsewhere has been signed.

 

Paper Presenters

The Program Committee expects every speaker of a scheduled presentation to pre-register and attend the symposium. Each speaker will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation.

 

Proceedings

The proceedings will be posted online in early January 2018.

 

Acceptance Notification

Acceptance and rejection notices will be sent to authors via e-mail in early October 2017. A list of accepted papers will be posted online at this time.

 

Speaker Cancellation

The Conference Organizing Committee expects every speaker in a scheduled presentation to register and attend the conference.

If it becomes necessary for a speaker to cancel a presentation, he or she should try to find an alternate presenter immediately, preferably a co-author. Contact SIAM at meetings@siam.org immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.

A “no-show” or cancelled presentation can cause serious inconvenience to the attendees and conference organizers. The committee thanks all speakers in advance for their compliance to this request.
