How to Participate

In SPM tradition, the conference will include a track for submission of peer-reviewed technical papers for those wishing rigorous peer review and published proceedings. The SPM proceedings will be published as a journal special issue in Computer-Aided Design. In addition, in the tradition of previous SIAM GD events, abstracts for minisymposia, contributed lectures and posters are solicited.

As a rule, no conference participant will be allowed to submit the same abstract to more than one track, nor to give more than one contributed or minisymposium talk.

Peer-reviewed Technical Papers for Publication in Computer-Aided Design

Peer-reviewed papers should present previously unpublished, original results that are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of the international program committee. The review will be double blind. The submission should be formatted according to the style guidelines for Computer-Aided Design. Full-length papers must not exceed 12 pages, and short papers (technical notes) must not exceed 6 pages, including figures and references.

Authors should format their papers in accordance with the elsarticle instructions located at http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/elsarticle.

Note: The elsarticle has several options associated with it. Authors must utilize the “[5p,twocolumn]” option.

Minisymposia

A minisymposium consists of four 25-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation.  Prospective minisymposium organizers are asked to submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 100 words), and a list of speakers and titles of their presentations using the Conference Management System available at:  http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=gd15

It is recommended that a minisymposium organizer make the first presentation. Each minisymposium speaker should submit a 75-word abstract. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in the conference sessions.

To ensure balance, SIAM prefers that a single individual not be the organizer of more than one minisymposium.  In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers or co-authors come from the same institution.

Be certain to visit http://www.siam.org/meetings/guidelines/mini_guide.php to review Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the conference themes. A lecture format is generally a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional 5 minutes for discussion. Talk lengths will be determined by the co-chairs at the close of submissions. A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a 4’ x 6’ or 4’ x 8’ poster board. A poster session is two hours long.  Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 75 words.  Please submit contributed presentations in lecture or poster format using the Conference Management System available at: http://meetings.siam.org/start.cfm?CONFCODE=gd15

Deadline for submission of contributed abstracts:  June 8, 2015
