Accommodation and Meals

Attendees have the option to book accommodation and meals (lunch and dinner) at Churchill College during the registration process. You may register for the conference now and add housing and meal options at a later date by accessing the registration web link to book any additional options. Due to limited availability, accommodation will be available on a first come, first served basis and attendees are urged to make their registration and meal arrangements by the early bird deadline of July 14.

There are both ensuite* and non-ensuite bedrooms available at Churchill College for single occupancy (one person per room). En-suite rooms have their own bathroom facilities. Non en-suite rooms (standard rooms) share bathroom facilities and are all fitted with wash hand basins. The bedrooms are used by the college students during term time and are of a basic but comfortable standard. The bright, airy, generously proportioned rooms combine the functional needs of a business traveler, including a spacious desk and Internet access, with home comforts such as tea and coffee and toiletries.

Ensuite* rooms will be available at £70 per night. Non-ensuite rooms will available at £51.50 per night. Both rates are based on single occupancy (one person per room). For those interested in room sharing, there are also a number of twin rooms (two single beds or one double bed) available at Churchill Conference on a first come, first served basis at the rate of £86. Additional facilities for residents include an on-site laundrette, a TV room, a bar and café (subject to opening hours). Sports facilities include squash and tennis courts, and a multi-gym. Sports equipment, irons and hair dryers can all be borrowed from the Porters' Lodge.

Bedrooms will be available from 14:00 on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 09:30 on the departure day. There will be a room available at Churchill College to leave luggage.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations of the registration fee before 14 July 2014 will be refunded, less an administration fee of 20%. No refunds of the registration fee can be made after 14 July 2014, however substitutions will be accepted at any time.

Cancellations of meals or accommodations can be made up to 21 July 2014. No refunds for meals or accommodation can be made after 21 July 2014, however substitutions will be accepted at any time.

Conference Speakers

The Conference Organizing Committee expects every speaker in a scheduled presentation to register and attend the conference.

If it becomes necessary for a speaker to cancel a presentation, he or she must try to find an alternate presenter immediately, preferably a co-author. Contact SIAM Meeting Manager Kirsten Wilden ([email protected]) immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.

A “no-show” or cancelled presentation can cause serious inconvenience to the attendees and conference organizers. The committee thanks all speakers in advance for their compliance with this request.

SIAM is not responsible for the safety and security of attendees’ computers. Do not leave laptop computers unattended.

Please remember to turn off cell phones, pagers, etc., during sessions.
