Section Purpose and Activities


Section Purpose

Formed in 2000 and revived in 2018, the Mexico Section of SIAM provides venues for the section members to communicate, build broader networks, promote collaborative and synergistic efforts in applied and computational mathematics, and support the mission of SIAM throughout the region.

Activities

The Mexico Section of SIAM hosts an annual meeting where members working in different areas of applied mathematics are invited to participate and give a talk. Additionally, the section plans to organize videoconferences as well as co-organize activities with neighboring institutions, with the intention of facilitating a platform for new collaborations between members. Any person engaged or interested in mathematics and its applications is eligible to participate in section activities.

SIAM Sections are regional or national subgroups of SIAM members that organize lectures, meetings, and other activities to serve members in their region. Get connected with members in your area. Section membership is free to all SIAM members - join SIAM today and we will automatically add you to your section at no cost!

The Annual Meeting of the Mexico Section of SIAM was held on June 8-10, 2022. The meeting was hybrid and hosted by Autonomous University of Coahuila.
