Important Submission Information

See “Submission Formats” for submission instructions!

How to Participate

Both GD and SPM will include a track for submission of technical papers. All papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of the respective international program committees and will be published as a journal special issue in Computer Aided Geometric Design (GD) and in Computer-Aided Design (SPM) of Elsevier. See the Full Paper Proceedings Submissions section below for instructions on submitting a paper to either proceedings.

For those who wish to participate without submitting a Full Paper, please consider submitting a minisymposia, contributed lecture or contributed poster submission. Please review the Additional Information section below for details on the various submission formats.

All submissions are subject to review and final approval by the co-chairs. Please note SIAM requests individuals limit themselves to giving one talk. However, exceptions are possible. Do not hesitate to contact the co-chairs.

Acceptance Notification

GD21 Full Paper authors will be notified by the Program Committee in late March 2021.
SPM21 Full Paper authors will be notified by the Program Committee in late April 2021.
Minisymposia, contributed lecture and contributed poster submitters will be notified by SIAM in early August 2021.

Speaker Cancellation

The Organizing Committee expects every speaker in a scheduled presentation to register and attend.

If it becomes necessary for a speaker to cancel a presentation, he or she should try to find an alternate presenter immediately, preferably a co-author. See SIAM Policy on Substitute Speakers and Remote Presentations. Contact SIAM at [email protected] immediately with any change to a scheduled presentation.

A “no-show” or cancelled presentation can cause serious inconvenience to the attendees and organizers. The committee thanks all speakers in advance for their compliance to this request.

Full Paper Proceedings Submissions

Both GD and SPM will include a track for submission of technical papers. All papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of the respective international program committees and will be published as a journal special issue in Computer Aided Geometric Design (GD) and in Computer-Aided Design (SPM) of Elsevier.

We invite submissions as full-length papers of approximately twelve (12) pages. Longer submissions need to be justified by their content. These proceedings papers should present previously unpublished, original results that are not simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All papers will be rigorously peer-reviewed by members of the international program committee. The review will be double blind and handled via Easy Chair. The LaTeX paper template files for submitting a paper are available at the Easychair GD21 and SPM21 submission sites.

Every Full Paper accepted for inclusion in the proceedings must be presented during the conference.

To submit a Full Paper for inclusion in the proceedings, complete the following two steps:

Step 1:
Submit an abstract to SIAM’s Conference Management System (CMS) as described below in the “Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format” section. Abstracts must be submitted in “Contributed Lecture” format by May 3, 2021 Deadline Extended to June 2, 2021. When submitting your abstract to the CMS, please include “Full Paper” in the talk title.
Submitting your abstract to the CMS does NOT submit your Full Paper to the proceedings. To submit a Full Paper, you must also complete step #2.

Step 2:
Select a track and submit via EasyChair to either GD21 or SPM21 by the deadline noted below:
GD21 EasyChair Submission Site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=siamgd2021
Abstract Due Date: February 1, 2021

SPM21 EasyChair Submission Site: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=spm20210
Abstract Due Date: March 5, 2021

GD21 proceedings related inquiries should be directed to [email protected]
SPM21 proceedings related inquiries should be directed to [email protected]

Participants who do *not* wish to submit a Full Paper may submit a minisymposia, contributed lecture or poster submission.

Minisymposia Submissions

A minisymposium generally consists of four 25-minute presentations, with an additional five minutes for discussion after each presentation. It is recommended the first speaker provide an overview of the topic area. Minisymposia feature up to four (4) speakers, and require a minimum of three (3) confirmed speakers by the minisymposium submission deadline. Organizers are limited to submitting minisymposia with one (1) part, allowing up to four (4) speakers. Minisymposia with more than one (1) part are not being solicited for this conference. All sessions submitted should carefully include a list of speakers and topics for final acceptance.

SIAM also requests speakers submit only one oral presentation, either a Full Paper, minisymposium presentation or contributed lecture. Minisymposium session organizers and individual speakers are equally responsible for ensuring participants adhere to the one talk per person rule.

To ensure balance, SIAM prefers a single individual not be the organizer or co-organizer of more than one minisymposium. In addition, SIAM discourages minisymposia in which most of the speakers or co-authors come from the same institution.

Each minisymposium speaker should submit an abstract no longer than 1,500 characters, including spaces. The organizing committee will referee minisymposium proposals. The number of minisymposia may be limited to retain an acceptable level of parallelism in sessions.

Please visit the Guidelines for Preparing a Minisymposium Proposal.

Prospective minisymposium organizers must submit a proposal consisting of a title, a description (not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces), a list of speakers, and presentation titles using the Conference Management System.

Deadline for submission of minisymposium proposals: April 19, 2021   DEADLINE EXTENDED to May 3, 2021 June 2, 2021 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)
Deadline for submission of minisymposium speaker abstracts: May 3, 2021 DEADLINE EXTENDED to June 2, 2021 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)

Contributed Presentations in Lecture or Poster Format Submissions

Contributed presentations in lecture or poster format are invited in all areas consistent with the themes. A lecture format is generally a 15-minute oral presentation with an additional five (5) minutes for discussion. Talk lengths will be determined by the co-chairs at the close of submissions.

SIAM also requests speakers submit only one oral presentation, either a Full Paper, minisymposium presentation or contributed lecture.

A poster format involves the use of non-electronic visual aids for mounting on a 4’ x 6’ or 4’ x 8’ poster board. A poster session is two hours long. Each contributor, either for a lecture or a poster, must submit a title and a brief abstract not to exceed 1,500 characters, including spaces. A fast forward session will introduce each poster with a one-minute video.

A poster may be presented in addition to a talk, provided the talk and the poster are on different topics.

Note Regarding Full Paper Submissions: As noted above in the “Full Paper Proceedings Submissions” section, participants submitting a Full Paper must submit a “Contributed Lecture” abstract to the CMS in addition to submitting to EasyChair. When submitting your abstract to the CMS, please include “Full Paper” in the talk title.

Please submit contributed presentations in lecture or poster format using the Conference Management System.

Deadline for submission of contributed abstracts: May 3, 2021 DEADLINE EXTENDED to June 2, 2021 (11:59 p.m. Eastern Time)
